Many of the Excel talks are about improving your knowledge or skills. Many are by trainers, showing you how to do something you haven’t done before, or how to do something better or more efficiently.

While Richard applauds such talks, that’s not what he's going to do. He will not show you any formulas, best practices, top tips, or anything else. He doesn't want to teach you; he wants to inspire you.

Think of Excel as a Lego. While many training courses are like instruction manuals for pre-designed Lego sets, he wants to inspire you to pick up the box of random Lego blocks, and let your imagination take over.

He wants to show you some of his more ‘unusual’ Excel creations, which will hopefully inspire you to set some time aside, to forget the ‘rules’ and let your creativity loose.
