GES and MEWC Partner to Create Europe’s Premier Excel Week

London, UK - Global Excel Summit (GES) and the Microsoft Excel World Championship (MEWC) have just announced a new strategic partnership to launch European Excel Week in May 2026, creating a unified Excel experience for the continent.

European Excel Week brings together two flagship events with distinct but complementary roles: deep learning in London, followed by elite Excel performance on stage in Amsterdam.

"We are delighted that this year we were able to schedule the two events so close to each other, allowing visitors from other continents not only to compete in the Excel Esports European Open, but also to enjoy the full European Excel Week."

We look forward to expanding our cooperation and, hopefully, organizing a joint single‑city event with the Global Excel Summit in the coming years."
‍

— Andrew Grigolyunovich, CFA, Founder & CEO of the Financial Modeling World Cup, the organization behind the Excel esports landscape

‍

A Shared Vision for Europe

This partnership is proof of MEWC's and GES' shared ambition to align learning, leadership, and elite performance under one coherent narrative with the clear aim to:

  • Grow the European Excel community.
  • Strengthen the learning-to-performance pathway
  • Increase visibility for Excel across both the professional and competitive worlds.
"Opportunities like this one speak to the core of the Global Excel Summit. We are thrilled to be a part of the European Excel Week and present the community with further opportunities to get together, connect and have fun.

Expanding the Summit and joining forces with Excel Esports European Open is a logical step for us. We look forward to our partnership flourishing and all the new experiences we’ll be able to bring to the Excel world together."
‍

— Elena Lalovska, Co-Founder of the Global Excel Summit

‍

A Clear Journey: From Learning to Elite Performance

For years, Global Excel Summit has been Europe’s home for learning and mastering Excel, bringing together professionals, enterprises, and educators to explore how Excel is used in the real world.

With this new partnership, that journey now has a natural next step.

‍

European Excel Week 2026 will include:

1. Global Excel Summit (19–20 May 2026 in London) - Global Excel Summit remains Europe’s Excel learning pillar, focused on:

  • Real-world and enterprise Excel use
  • Advanced techniques and best practices
  • Thought leadership from the most trusted names in the Excel community

‍

2. Excel Esports European Open (22–23 May 2026 in Amsterdam)

  • The week ends as attention shifts to Amsterdam for the Excel Esports European Open, Europe’s premier Excel competition.
  • The best Excel performers compete live on stage, showcasing speed, creativity, and mastery in a high-energy, arena-style format designed for both in-person audiences and media coverage.

‍

Live Excel Esports at Global Excel Summit

Excel esports will also feature directly at the Global Excel Summit in 2026. A headline live Excel battle on the GES flagship conference stage on 19 May 2026, featuring Diarmuid Early vs. Ha Dang, compete live in front of our audience. See full agenda.
