London, UK - 26 January 2026 - The Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales (ICAEW) has confirmed the continuation of its partnership with the Global Excel Summit, following a successful first year of collaboration supporting Excel skills development across the accounting and finance profession.
The renewed partnership will see ICAEW continue its involvement in the Global Excel Summit 2026, taking place in London on 19-20 May 2026. The collaboration reflects a shared commitment to providing practical, high-quality learning and meaningful in-person engagement for professionals using Excel in their day-to-day work.
"As our Excel Community continues to grow, creating opportunities for members to learn from experts and connect in person has become increasingly important."
"Partnering with the Global Excel Summit allows us to bring together practical insight, thought leadership and real-world Excel expertise in an environment that supports learning, discussion and professional growth.”
— Bani Lamba (Community Manager for ICAEW Excel Community)
ICAEW Excel Community
Over the past year, ICAEW’s Excel Community has grown to more than 43,000 members, making it one of ICAEW’s largest professional communities. A key focus for the community has been expanding access to in-person events that allow members to network and learn directly from leading practitioners and experts.

ICAEW's Spreadsheet Competency Framework
Looking ahead to 2026, ICAEW will continue to strengthen its thought leadership and professional guidance. The Excel Community will gain access to a refreshed Spreadsheet Competency Framework, providing a more contemporary structure for assessing and developing Excel proficiency.
The partnership also aligns with ICAEW’s wider professional ecosystem. ICAEW maintains a strong relationship with the Financial Modeling Institute (FMI), another partner of the Global Excel Summit, offering members the opportunity to pursue the Advanced Financial Modeler (AFM) Accreditation.
ICAEW at the Global Excel Summit
The event in 2025 featured leading global Excel experts alongside ICAEW members and Excel Community contributors, with sessions covering topics including the latest Excel functionality, principles for best practice, and the skills required to advance Excel capability.
As part of the 2026 Summit, ICAEW representatives will attend in-person and be available to meet delegates during networking sessions on both days. Ian Pay, Head of Data Analytics at ICAEW, and Bani Lamba, Community Manager for the ICAEW Excel Community, will both be attending and look forward to engaging with participants.
ICAEW members are eligible for an exclusive discount on Global Excel Summit tickets, with further details available via the ICAEW Excel Community homepage.
