We explore the difference between building budgets and forecasts, and learn how to create your own budget model, perform what-if analysis, break-even and forecast scenarios.

Training requirements

Software used

The course is demonstrated using the latest version of Excel for Microsoft 365 but participants can use whichever version of Excel they are most comfortable with. The course materials include additional instructions for prior versions of Excel, and Excel for Mac users are also catered for.  Each delegate must bring their own laptop with their preferred version of Excel installed.

Each participant will receive 50+ downloadable Excel sheets and models as well as a copy of both “Using Excel for Business and Financial Modelling” and “Financial Modeling in Excel for Dummies” written by your presenter Danielle Stein Fairhurst

Danielle Stein Fairhurst

Danielle Stein Fairhurst is the Principal of Plum Solutions, a Sydney-based consultancy specialising in financial modelling and analysis. She is a LinkedIn Learning Instructor and in 2021 she first received the Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP) award. In 2022 she was awarded the “Lifetime Achievement Award” at the Financial Modelling Summit.

She is a Chartered Financial Modeler (FMI), holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Macquarie Graduate School of Management (MGSM) and has taught management accounting subjects at the University of Sydney.
